Arrahman Arraheem Network’s Message on International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
OVER THE past five years York Regional Police has been commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. These events have provided unprecedented opportunities for all community partners to join with York Regional Police in celebration of diversity and collectively re-affirm commitment towards eradication of racial discrimination and hate.
This year the event was held on March 30, at the Bur Oak Secondary School, Markham. Arrahman-Arraheem Network - which has been working on inter-faith dialogue and making for promoting peace and brotherhood to make the world a safer place - was especially invited by the York Police for media coverage.
While talking with people who visited the stall, the team of Arrahman Arraheem highlighted the fact that there was no room for racism in Islam. God Almighty since the very beginning had given mankind the ability and freedom to differentiate and choose between right and wrong, and good and bad. But because of ignorance, unawareness, hatred and jealously, man has misused this freedom and has violated the rights of others based on his notions of superiority of colour, race, traditions and family background.
Fourteen hundred years ago, Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) laid the foundations of a society based on Islamic principals of respect and protection of the beliefs of others, justice, equality and brotherhood. The Holy Quran supports this concept: “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted”. (49:13).
On this occasion Chief York Regional Police, Armand La Barge appreciated the efforts of Arrahman Arraheem Network for eliminating racism and discrimination in any form. He assured Arrahman Arraheem the full support of York Region Police in combating these menaces. While giving his message, the founder of Arrahman Arraheem Babar R Chaudhry said that God Almighty’s world and His creations are extremely beautiful and so is His judgement which provides for peace and security, equality and brotherhood, and human rights for the entire mankind. Through the platform of Arrahman Arraheem we are trying to spread the true essence of Islam which is free of racism. Arrahman Arraheem is also making efforts to remove the misconception about Muslims being extremist through practical actions and deeds in our daily lives. #
